A new way to move in Damascus

From 2016 several means of transportation will be available to move within Damascus or from/to the suburbs. Microbus, bus, metro and taxis will be complementary modes providing you efficient solutions for your mobility in Damascus. The Green Line will have a wide impact on the public transportation network, even for people living far from this new infrastructure. Bus and microbus lines will be reorganised to optimise the transfer of passengers from bus or microbus to metro. In 2016, shift from one mode to another mode, and compose your journey to reach your destination: this is intermodal transport.

Arriving from Dummar to reach Hijaz?

You live in Dummar and work in Damascus downtown? Catch a microbus from Dummar to Sumariyeh as today, the metro will then bring you to the city centre in less than 16 minutes, at any time.

Living in Lattakia and studying in Damascus University?

Once arriving from Lattakia by bus in Qaboun Pullman station, you will just need 13 minutes to reach the university in Baramkeh, and 17 minutes to arrive in Adab, even during peak hours.

Train + metro from Qatana to Al Malek Faisal

The new railway line will bring you from Qatana to the new transport hub in Moadamiyeh. The metro will then transport you to Al Malek Faisal Street in less than 22 minutes.

Park and ride

Parking places will be provided in the extremities of the lines, where commuters can leave their cars for the day and take a metro into Damascus downtown area. You will be able for example to park your car for free (or for a symbolic fare) in Sumariyeh car park, and then to continue your trip with the Green Line, to reach the Citadel in less than 17 minutes. Avoid traffic congestion and reduce the stress of your journey thanks to the metro!
