The metro stations

All over the world metro stations are designed by architects in order to make the daily commute more pleasant. The stations will become symbols of the Green Line, especially in the above-ground parts of the metro line. Designing the metro stations is not a purely technical endeavour, but will also integrate aesthetic and conceptual thinking, in order to give the Green Line an identity of its own.
- Thoughtful choice of materials, natural or artificial lighting, and careful attention to sensory and environmental comfort will create spaces that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The stations will have a lively, welcoming and comfortable atmosphere.
- The metro stations will be accessible: escalators and lifts will permit all users, including disabled or elderly persons, to access and use the stations with ease.
- Some stations will include commercial activities (shops, cafés, services, etc.).
Some concept designs have been suggested by architects during the feasibility phase. The architectural design process will be pursued in the next phases of the project, to make the Green Line a place where passengers feel at ease, welcomed and comfortable.
